CarDSPMusicPlayer Support

Your everyday music player becomes a serious car audio system the moment you get in the car. A music player with a 28-band EQ, tone controls and automatic in-car acoustic correction.

It's digital. So why doesn't it sound good?

Good sound is not just "V-shaped" sound with boosted bass and treble.
It is resolution that lets you hear the mids and highs inside the bass, down to where the bassist is fretting the string.
It is crisp highs where you can pick out every tap of the ride cymbal and hi-hat.

If you can't hear that, is it the amp? The speakers? Do you need new headphones?

Before you buy anything, try this app first.

How the sound processing works →

Hi-res output up to 384 kHz with a USB DAC.

Connect a hi-res USB DAC to your iPhone, and the upsampling feature can raise the output up to 384 kHz.
Even CD-quality (44.1 kHz) tracks can be output at 352.8 kHz (44.1 kHz family) or 384 kHz (48 kHz family).

Hi-res sources such as 96 kHz and 192 kHz are, of course, output as they are, with no loss of quality.

* The maximum output sample rate depends on what your DAC supports.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The app plays songs that are already in the Music app library on your iPhone. Any format supported by iOS can be played, including AAC, MP3, Apple Lossless (ALAC), WAV, AIFF and FLAC.

This covers songs purchased from the iTunes Store, songs imported from CDs, and music files you added yourself. Apple Music songs cannot be played, even if they are downloaded to your device, because they are protected by DRM (copy protection).

It is used by the in-car acoustic correction feature to measure the acoustic characteristics of your car. The recorded audio itself is never saved or sent anywhere; only the analysis result (the numbers of the correction curve) is stored on your device. You can also adjust the correction curve manually without using the microphone.

Anywhere, any time — not only in the car. In the Sound tab you can set the 28-band equalizer, the tone controls and the in-car correction curve separately.

Yes. You can create new playlists in the app, add and reorder songs, and set a cover image (chosen from your photos or from a song's artwork). You can search and browse them together with the playlists from the Music app.

The DSP processing (28-band EQ, tone controls and in-car correction) works with every type of connection. The output sample rate depends on the connected device.

With a hi-res USB DAC, the upsampling setting in the Sound tab (44.1 kHz family / 48 kHz family) raises the output up to 384 kHz (up to 352.8 kHz for the 44.1 kHz family). Hi-res sources such as 96 kHz and 192 kHz are output as they are. The app automatically finds and uses the highest rate your DAC actually supports.

Over Bluetooth, the output sample rate is limited by the Bluetooth standard and by what the receiver supports.

Yes (version 1.1.0 or later). Use "Send correction to another device" in the Sound tab to turn a saved profile into a correction file (.cdsp), and send it via AirDrop, Mail, or save it to Files. On the receiving device, open the file and it is added as a profile.

Correction files are shared with the Android version, so a car AI box (Android) without a microphone can use a correction measured on your iPhone. A correction file contains the profile name, the correction curve, the equalizer values, and the date and device model of the measurement.
